Reverse Phone Directory Lookup That Isn’t a Rip Off

Andy Maule asked:

Sometimes we may need to acquire the address of a contact whose phone number we possess but whose residential address we lack. How do you go about acquiring this information? Generally speaking, one can use an online website to perform a reverse phone directory lookup. One simply needs to input the number into a search box on the site; the site goes through its database and comes up with the relevant name and address.

Reverse search sites do much more – they can not only find a person’s residential address, but also his or her age, past places of residence, and in some cases, even his or her criminal record, if any. This can be extremely useful when running a business. Did a customer just leave you his phone number? Well, now you can send samples over to their place without any trouble, simply by doing a reverse search. Are you doubtful about a business associate’s integrity or financial liquidity? There is nothing easier than to check on this using one of these reverse look up websites.

The only thing to do is assure the integrity and validity of the website itself, and it is not hard to do that – simply check reviews and opinions about the site on the web, perhaps in forums. These opinions form your greatest safe guard. Also, check what information you are going to be provided with, such as the address, name, satellite image, etc. A good site that allows you to do a reverse phone directory lookup can be simply invaluable in many situations.

Use A Reverse Phone Lookup To Find Out Who’s Calling Your Child

Steve Cowen asked:

Although it is not necessary for you to consistently pry into your child’s life, it is necessary for you to keep a close eye on your child’s phone activities. Knowing who your child is calling, and who is calling your child is important. This is because strange callers and phone numbers you don’t recognize may not only mean a costly phone bill, but it could also mean stopping unwanted people from contacting your child, such as telemarketers, or other dangerous individuals including people making prank calls and child predators.

If you come across a phone number you don’t recognize in your child’s cell phone, write the number down and enter it into a reverse phone lookup site to see if you can find out more information on the individual your child has been talking to.

You will find that many internet sites offer free reverse phone lookup services. It’s a good idea to make sure the one you choose includes cell phone numbers in their results, because many reverse phone search sites only provide results for landline phones. Once you have decided on the one you want to use, enter the complete phone number – area code and seven-digit number – into the provided search box and then search for the results.

If you are lucky, you will receive free results that will tell you the full name or last name of the phone number owner, as well as their address. However, if the phone number is unlisted, or belongs to a cell phone, you may not receive any useful results other than the location of the mobile phone user. Therefore, you need to keep in mind that based on the information you receive from your search, you may wish to pursue the matter further and pay to receive a full phone report.

In addition, keep in mind that if a minor is the individual calling your child they will be listed under their parent’s account.

Remember to talk to your child about their phone activities and keep open communication with them about their friends and the people they talk to on the phone. Although you want your child safe, you don’t want to alienate them in the process.

Google – Reverse Phone Lookup Service

Travis Craig asked:

There are some that consider Google to be the king of the search engines, but that does not mean that everyone uses them when they need more information. If you are one of the latter, you should think about logging onto their site when you have important information to find. When you want to know more about a mysterious phone number, give Google a try before you give up on finding out what you need to know.

Searching with an engine is not always a simple process. You can start with the most obvious search terms, but they do not always work. Think of using Google for a reverse telephone lookup as a matter of trial and error. Starting simple is a great idea, as that can be all that you need. Enter your unknown number into the search box and see what comes up when you hit enter.

This will be hit or miss. You may get lucky, but most won’t, at least not with that approach. You will find that most results only have a partial number in the text, and that means no direct hit. Instead, try to put quotes around the number. That tells the search engine that you only want to see results that include all of the digits in succession. This narrows down the search and brings up more relevant results, if there are any.

You can also go to what is called the Google Phonebook. You can get there very easily by typing in phonebook: and then the number in question immediately after it. This will take you to the phonebook section next, and the only results you will get will be exact matches. If none exist, you will get nothing at all. If you do get something, it will be up to you to decide if the listing is current or not. With numbers switching around as they do these days, you will not know for sure without further investigation.

Don’t worry too much if you don’t find anything through Google right away. You can also try some of the other search engines out there, and other online tools to get you the information that you seek. Don’t forget to give the reverse cell phone lookup a try when you can’t find anything anywhere else.
